OnTrac Out for Delivery: Meaning, What To Do

If you have ever used the OnTrac courier service, then you might have seen the ‘Out for delivery’ notification as your package reaches the last stage of its journey.

If you’re confused about when your package will be delivered after getting the ‘out for delivery’ notification, then you are at the right place. Here we gonna cover every aspect of OnTrac out for delivery update so continue to read if you really want to know more about it.

What’s the Meaning of OnTrac ‘Out for Delivery’?

If you have received this ‘out for delivery’ notification from OnTrac, it means your package has already been loaded up in a delivery truck and will soon be delivered to your address.

However, this update doesn’t necessarily mean that OnTrac will deliver your package on the very same day you receive the notification. It can take a few days to get delivered, even after getting the status of ‘Out for delivery’ on your tracking status.

Why does my package remain stuck on the OnTrac ‘Out for Delivery’ Update?

Pilled Up Packages

Many users have complained that even after living in the same town, they didn’t get their package on the very same day when others in the town got theirs.

Upon further research, we came to know that the issue had to do with the backlogs & pilled-up packages at the facility where the assigned delivery guy failed to deliver their assigned packages to the recipient address.

Most of the time OnTrac remains understaffed as they provide a meager pay scale to their drivers and always try to keep maximum profit to themselves.

So if you are seeing this status out for delivery for days, it might mean The driver of your designated area might have either forgotten to pick it up or been overwhelmed by the number of packages.

Terrible Tracking System

OnTrac has the worst tracking system compared to all other courier services. Sometimes it provides wrong tracking status and even invalid tracking numbers which confuse the recipient as to whether they will receive their package on the estimated delivery date or not.

It happened to one of my friends as he was expecting to get his package delivered by the Ontrac He patiently waited for the whole day and lastly when he checked this tracking status it changed from “Out for delivery” to “No tracking information available at this time”.

So, if you’re using the OnTrac, then be aware of this issue. To be true, I recommend you to use the UPS, DHL or USPS services, as they are quite good and renowned for providing the best service.

Missed a Scan

It happened quite often when your package somehow missed a scan and managed to get delivered to your house address. In such scenarios, your tracking status remains stuck on the same “out for delivery” update while your package has already been delivered to your address.

Make sure you check your ring camera as the porch pirates may try to steal your package and may not be able to do anything. Again, here, the fault is of OnTrac as they somehow failed to scan the package, which caused the tracking status to remain stuck on the same status instead of updating it to get the “Delivered” status.

Package Was Stolen

Porch pirates have become a major problem in most of the streets. Many incidents have been reported where the delivered packages get stolen within an hour after being delivered by the OnTrac Delivery Guy.

The best thing here, you can do is to have a Ring Door camera so that you have some evidence that the package has been stolen by some thieves and you can file for a claim.

What to do when my package remains stuck on the ‘out for delivery’ update?

Use some other tracking system

Use some third-party tracking system such as tracking more, which provides you with the true status of your package. It will help you to know where your package was last scanned and how long it will take to get delivered to your delivery address.

Be patient

If you are facing such an issue when your tracking status remains stuck then you need to be patient. Sometimes these types of issues are caused by some temporary problems or technical glitches, which usually get fixed on their own. You just need to be a bit patient and the rest will be done on its own.

Contact the shipper

If you think a significant amount of time has passed and you haven’t noticed any changes, then you need to contact the shipper and let them know that you have not received your package yet. The reason why I recommend you contact the shipper instead, of contacting OnTrac is because OnTrac pays more attention to shipper as compared to the user.

So, if you ask the shipper to contact the on track on behalf of you, then chances are there they will be able to tell you where your package actually is.
